10 Reasons Why to Visit Thailand
I often visit Thailand for its beautiful people, the smiles at every corner and the energy it gives me. I always mention Thailand with a huge smile on my face, because this country never disappoints. Pack your backpack, find a cheap flight with me and start a journey of your life in the Land of Smiles!
This is a place to be and here is a list of 10 reasons why you should visit Thailand this year!
1. Feel the Freedom
Thailand is a place where I really understood the power of freedom. It taught me how to free myself from the feeling that I have to be always available. I rushed myself like crazy, just to keep all things updated. I would probably have spent my entire life that way, but I discovered Thailand 😉
2.Explore dream beaches
Thai beaches are hypnotic! With hundreds of gorgeous islands, Thailand is a paradise for beach fans and water enthusiasts. I really recommend to visit Koh Tao island, where you can swim with the largest whale shark in the World or Hua Hin, to catch the best wind to practice kitesurfing!
3.Perfect for backpackers
Thailand is home to adventurous backpackers! It’s budget friendly, convenient and safe. I have traveled around Thailand, as a solo female traveler for 2 months and even not once I felt unsafe.
If you are planning to visit Thailand soon, you should join awesome communities! I recommend to use the Backpacking in Thailand community or join the Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam Backpackers group on Facebook.
4.Learn more about Thai culture
With impressive rich cultural heritage, Thailand became one of the most popular destinations in Asia. This is a place to learn more about Buddhism and deepen the understanding of the meditation. Thai culture is deeply-rooted in Buddhism and values such respect, self-control, kindness and generosity. Last trip to Thailand was a life-changing experience for me, as I attended a meditation retreat in Chiang Mai.
5. Try street food
It’s not a surprise that Thailand is a top destination for food lovers! Thai cuisine is affordable and the tastiest in the whole world! And this is one of the most important reasons, why I visit Thailand very often 🙂 You can get a hot plate of Pad Thai for $1 or $2 on the street. And as everybody knows Thai street food in the best!
6. Numerous waterfalls and jungle trails
Any nature lovers? Thailand has 60 amazing national parks that allow you to explore the untouched wildlife! Trails are filled with spectacular waterfalls hidden deep in the forest. Make your dreams come true and be like a Tarzan among monkeys and lianas!
7. Unique shopping
Another reason, why to visit Thailand?
Thailand is known as one of the best countries, where you can buy the most unusual and exotic clothes, decoration and accessories!
I really like shopping at Chatuchak Weekend Market in Bangkok. It is the biggest weekend market in the World, which has been working for more than 70 years. If you are looking for unique Thai souvenirs, vintage and retro clothes or boho accessories, it is definitely a right place! Another market I admire is the Night Bazaar in Chiang Mai. When the sun goes down, plenty of street vendors set up their stalls with local Thai goods and delicious food.
8. Go on a retreat
Thailand is a great place to get away and recharge your energy. Give yourself time for deep spiritual experience. Many yoga retreat places are located in peaceful areas in Thailand. They offer detox programs, chakra balancing programs, the Ashtanga or Hatha yoga.
You should try at least one of them!
9. Tropical fruits
Tasting different types of fruits is another exciting adventure in Thailand! Have you ever tried a rambutan or a snake fruit? Thailand’s fertile soil and tropical climate give birth to many sweet and sappy exotic fruits.
Fruits for breakfast, fruits for lunch, fruits for dinner and you will never get bored.
10. You can get everywhere for almost nothing
I admire traveling in Thailand by trains. It’s convenient, safe and affordable. I recommend an awesome budget rail journey between Bangkok and Chiang Mai, Bangkok to Phuket and Bangkok to Ko Samui ( train and bus or ferry). If you would like to get a schedule or train guide around Thailand, click here. Another cheap and great option is to rent a motorbike and see the city from a different perspective.
Thailand is not just a country. Its energy, people, sun, nature, food, peace, dreams and all the good vibes. Remember to stay at local places and eat traditional Thai food from street vendors to taste the real piece of Thai Land.

All of your nature shots are gorgeous! I think Thailand is worth it for that alone, but a retreat would be interesting as well 🙂
